What Would You Like to Know?

What kind of training do the coaches have?

We have varying knowledge and experience of the game. Tim our head coach has been playing the game for over 20 years and will be starting his coaching badges this year to accompany his extensive knowledge of getting the best from the team. Jamie our assistant coach achieved his level 2 coaching badge several years ago, alongside having played in several amateur and competitive leagues throughout his 13-year playing career. Our staff roster is still growing and we hope to add another coach with more than 40 years of playing and coaching the game, very soon.

What kind of experience do I need?

Absolutely none. We look for certain qualities in people above all else. Kind, motivated, and considerate. The team ethos is about building one another up to be better people, and hopefully better footballers but that's just a happy consequence.

How much does it cost?

As we are a charity team we do our very best to cut the cost to yourself wherever possible. However, nothing these days comes for free. Training costs only £2 per session (Free if it's your first session). Gameday subs can vary depending on the pitch but rarely goes over £5, which pays for the ref and pitch hire. If you find this is too much of a cost to yourself then please don't worry just get in touch and let us know and we will be able to accommodate you.

When do you train?

We train every Thursday at Callon All Weather Pitches behind St Teresa's and Fishwick Primary Schools on Downing Street at 18:30. We run drills and exercises for the first half of the session and a mini-match for the second half.

How do you support those with mental health difficulties?

Our assistant coach Jamie is soon to complete his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Counselling Coaching and Psychological Interventions degree (2022). He is currently able to offer low-level counselling interventions and provides strategies to help you better manage your own mental health as well as point you in the right direction of services tailored specifically to the needs you have. Alongside this our team sponsor, ACAYA is also able to offer services to women who are struggling with their mental health but also specialise in helping those who have suffered from domestic violence.
